Solano School Project

solano_play_ground.jpgARPA members assisted with the installation of three desperately needed playgrounds at Solano Elementary School in the Osborn School District.  The school is located at the corner of 15th Avenue and Missouri.

School Background

The School has a diverse student population which reflects that of the entire district.  The student body is 3% Asian, 16% Black, 59% Hispanic, 13% White and 10%  Native American. Last year, 72% of Solano Solano’s students students qualified for Free lunch, 10% for reduced lunch.

Playground Project Background

solano.jpgSolano School’s existing playground equipmentdated back to the 60’s and 70 s and 70’s.  Much of it was in disrepair, and because it was so old the parts needed were not even available. Several of the structures had been repaired so many times they were no longer safe for the children to play on.

 Thank You ARPA Members

The Real Gift Foundation received a generous donation from Brown & Caldwell to make this project possible. The community was invited to participate in the construction and donations help support this project from ARPA members and others helped to make this dream a reality.
